Europe trip ~ Rome

DAY EIGHT

Rome, capital of Italy. A little backward compared to Paris.

Bed and Breakfast Hostel.

Train and bus terminal

Saw Gelato and I had to eat it. Chocolate. Nothing comparable in Singapore.

One of the seven wonders of the world.

The Colesseum

Went for a guided tour and thus we manage to jump queue.

A little history. The Colosseum is an elliptical amphitheatre the centre of the city of Rome, the largest ever built in the Roman Empire. One of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering. Originally capable of seating around 50,000 spectators, the Colosseum was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles.

The Arena

The Arc next to the Colosseum

Ruins of the Roman forum

Palazzo Senatorio

Lunch. Beef with some funny tasting vegetables.

Baked chicken with potatoes

Trevi Fountain. Fountain is really big and nice and real arty. But a tad too crowded with tourists!

Gelato from Blue Ice.

More fountains...

DAY NINE

Brunch. The pizza is really good. the crust is very thin and pizza super juicy.

More food.

Steak and ribs

Piazza di Spagna. I am sure the Romans love fountains a lot.

Spanish Steps

Gelato again.

The Pantheon. originally built as a temple to all the gods of Ancient Rome.

Some market like our pasa malam but nicer la. Sells interesting puppets, food, handicrafts, souveneirs and etc.

Super nice nuts. Haa.. I hate nuts yet i find them yummy.

See... another fountain.

Dinner at an alfresco restaurant.

Hot Earl grey on a cold cold night.

Hot Mocha

Spaghetti Carbonara

Spaghetti with spicy sauce. i forgot the name of it.

Chicken with potatoes again. In need of meaty food like we always do.

my sweet bf bought me a rose.

Colosseum by the night. Still as beautiful.

Fruity Gelato to end the day. I think it's strawberry and errrmm mixed berries.

DAY TEN

Pizza for breakfast.

Look at my small tiny hand compared to the size of the so called one slice of pizza.

Vatican City and the crazy queue.

Sistine Chapel

More pizza for snacks

Castel Sant'Angelo

I lost count of the number of gelato we had.

Dinner near our hostel.

If you think this a portion for one, you will be so wrong. I think one serving can feed 2 - 3 guys.
